Thanks Tina! Unfortunately it doesn´t seem to be doing very well!
It´s awful to hear about these ´kittens´ having kittens, isn´t it?
Your home sounds amazing-what a wonderful life your cats must have! I wish there were more people like you around! xx

Thanks Carole-hadn´t seen that before-a really good post. My mommy cat at work had quite a few litters before she FINALLY went into the trap cage-by that time the vet said her womb had had enough! When i knew i was being made redundant this year(after 19 years) i had to trap her and her beautiful son, the grey semi feral in another post of mine, who is now missing AGAIN! HE was no problem to catch and i took him to the wonderful Cramar cat rescue, who have their own feral paddocks, superb place, but i didn´t catch mommy till 19 days after i´d left, after many weeks of upset and worry. I got her to Cramar, where she was blood tested and found to have leukemia, probably caused by mating with so many toms over the years, and a stomach tumour, so was pts. Iwas devasted-she had a lovely new home, instead of a dirty factory, and this happens,
Her little boy would never settle without her-they were so close-so since 28th May, when he´d escaped for the 3rd time, but this time for 5 weeks,i´ve had more worry and stress again!
When i caught him this time, it was decided to rehome him, as he started letting other people stroke him, but he escaped from there after only a week about 3 weeks ago...............thank God he was ´done´ as early as possible-he´s now 6.5 years.

I´ve just heard of a stray cat who´s been hanging around someone´s street for a couple of months. On Saturday, she appeared with 2 kittens, running around...........................RSPCA cannot take them, will ring CP when lady is from work.

At one time it was said to let a cat have 1 litter of kittens before she is neutered but I do not think that is the case anymore. i think neutering protects the cat from all sorts of diseases and illnesses, plus the poor female is not harrassed by all the randy toms, hope you don´t find that offensive, anyone, it also stops male cats from roaming and getting knocked down. I think that people need to be responsible if they are taking an animal on. Every cat I get comes for the cats´ protection league shelters and they always recommend that they are neutered. I think woody was about 24 weeks when we had him neutered.

It actually says as EARLY as possible, not as YOUNG as possible Patricia!

Sorry Shirley as a veterinary nurse I am not happy with your petition and the way it is worded to say an animal should by law be neutered AS YOUNG AS POSSIBLE is wron, I am all for neutering animals not being bred from but would like the choice not to be told that I have to have it done.
