aggressive bunnyi have one female and one male rabbit both are fixed.ive introduced another female to the group who hasnt been fixed yet but i plan to.my other female get on with her great but the male has started nipping at her and trying to be dominant.he has always been a lil bad tempered even tries to tell me what to do i dont want to give up my new bunny there are alreadsy to many unwanted pets out there and my problems is not that i dnt want her its the fact my male bunny is been naughty please help me From the topic: Comments Post a comment in this discussion: 14 Jul 2008 09:15 bunny intros can be difficult sometimes and it may help the situation to have your new girl fixed as well. did you just plonk the new girl in with with other 2 or did you do gradual introductions? i would always suggest the gradual approach, placing their cages next to each other so that they get used to the sight and smell of each other, the introducing them in neutral territory, somewhere that none of the rabbits have been before. do this for a few days and then move on to introducing them in an area where your resident bunnies have been before, ie a run or shed or the lounge or something. only when they are getting on well and resting together in this area should you then try putting them in the same hutch. i would advise that the hutch be totally cleaned out before you do this too to try to get rid of as much of your original bunnies smell as possible. these things can take time and you just have to go at the pace they set! if you have a good local animal charity in your area then it may be worthwhile contacting them to see if they can help you out. hope things improve |
