Hi can anyone tell me if there are any dog proof dog toys around? My GSD - Tiny enjoys playing but after half an hour will destroy the toy. We have given her the solid rubber balls and bones - chewed up and spat out - mind you this took her a couple of weeks, squeeky toys - ripped apart, soft toys - ripped apart, kongs - chewed up but did last 4 weeks, rawhide chews - gone, those white marrow filled bones - chewed up. Balls and footballs suffer the most destruction as she will fetch them back to you in peices. Ropes are about the only thing that she hasn´t destroyed, but anything attatched to the rope has been. Can anyone help with any ideas for toys for her that will last more than 24 hours. We are trying to find a new club for her as the GSD club here refused her as she is not kennel club registered and has a hind leg problem. Tried a knuckle bone and that lasted 2 days - these are the first toys and treats she had ever had, so any food treat goes as fast as she can eat it and toys - well, lets just say that she enjoys herself with them. 31 Jul 2008 19:11 Knuckle bones are a good idea, can´t help withthe toys, my 2 have never been toy destroyers, i find it bizarre you were refused membership . 31 Jul 2008 16:14 Sorry never saw the ideas for toys part. Pets at home have very hard balls (ooh) they arent indestructable but they do last a bit longer than the usual toys. 31 Jul 2008 16:12 Your right there Vena, heidi went through a stage were chewed every toy to shreds, cost a fortune replacing them, along with the dining table top and chairs. LOL. Greywolf keep your fingers crossed tiny will hopefully grow out of it heidi did. thank god. now she prefers stealing cardboard from the recycle bag and shredding that. 30 Jul 2008 18:11 Hi Greywolf, l don´t believe there is such a thing HE! HE! lm lucky as both mine are good with there toys and don´t chew them up,She is obviously intent in destroying them, if you see her ripping it apart tell her no, or you could just give her a toy when you are playing with her, when finished playing take it away, you could try a big knuckle bone from the butcher, inbeetween times. Regards the GSD Club refusing her, l personally have never heard of this before unless it is a BREED CLUB, l would appreciate it if you could send me more info on club, also where you are perhaps ill be able to help. |
