My dear little Bonnie passed away this afternoon. She suffered a stroke two weeks ago and was improving at first. Just this week she has stopped eating and drinking and could barely move. I could not let her go on like that, and she died peacefully at the vet´s. She was seventeen and a half and I had been her mum since the day she was born. I shall miss her dearly. Anyway, today I plucked up courage to take her stuff up to the local animal shelter - some food that was left, her feeder, cat basket etc. I couldn´t bear to keep looking at it all. 14 Oct 2008 11:56 how sad for your family all our thoughts are with you pat and girls . 13 Oct 2008 19:31 aww, Margaret, after all you have been through with Bonnie, what a shame. Bonnie was a very unusual cat; she used to lick my nose and would sit and stare and people for hours. Sometimes crept them out. But she would sit on the arm of the sofa and stare at me with love in her eyes. She would sleep with me every night, until she had her stroke and was unbalanced on the bed, and purr her little heart out all night. But the one thing I really remember was when my grandson was a tiny baby. If he cried, she would dash through the house, jump into his crib, and gently pat him on the shoulder with her paw. What a wonderful creature she was. |
