Drunken Teenage Girl Smashes baby Rabbit Against Wall.........Member Removed HORRIFIC footage of a drunken teenage girl smashing a baby rabbit against a wall was shown in court today. The mobile phone film revealed the 14-year-old swinging the rabbit from its ears during the fatal attack. The teenager, who had drunk three litres of cheap sparkling wine, was egged on by her friends to continually abuse the four-month-old female rabbit, called Fi-Fi. Magistrates watched the horrific footage and heard the sickening crack of the black and white rabbit’s head hitting the wall in the house in Darlington, County Durham. They then heard the girl’s friends laugh and tell her she had killed the pet. The 14-year-old girl and a youth aged 17 faced South Durham Youth Court, sitting in Bishop Auckland, today. Sickening The girl admitted one charge of causing unnecessary suffering to the rabbit on April 10 this year while the youth admitted a charge of aiding and abetting the girl to cause unnecessary suffering. Both cannot be named for legal reasons. The court heard how Fi-Fi’s owner had left the 17-year-old in her home to baby-sit while she had gone out. The teenage girl arrived at the house some time later with some friends and was already drunk – having admitted drinking three litres of Lambrini and two glasses of Baileys. The young rabbit was then attacked and thrown against the wall four times – the fourth, fatal assault caught on camera. As the footage was played to the court, one boy could be heard laughing. “Flat out, as hard as you have done it yet,” the voice says. The girl then repeatedly swings the rabbit by its ears before letting go and watching the animal hit the wall with a sickening thud. Advertisement Laughing, the voice continues: “It’s dead. You killed it, you killed it. F****** hell (name of girl), you’ve nearly killed it. “You’ve broken its legs.” The 30-second video was then sent to several other people via Bluetooth. The RSPCA has been unable to establish who actually filmed the incident, the court heard. The following day Fi-Fi’s owner reported to the RSPCA that her rabbit had died and the charity began an investigation. Prosecutor Kevin Campbell said: “The two defendants were spoken to and the girl accepted that she was there, accepted that she was drunk and she had picked it up by the ears. “She goes on to say that she thought the rabbit had bitten her or done something to her, that’s why she had thrown it. “The footage clearly shows her picking up the rabbit and throwing it against the wall.” An RSPCA vet later established that Fi-Fi had taken 12 hours to die in agony from the massive head injuries inflicted upon her. Lucy Shuttleworth, defending the girl, said the animal’s owner had already carried out her own “justice” and had been given a six-month conditional discharge by magistrates for assaulting the teenager. “She accepts she should not have done it. She deeply regrets it and is extremely remorseful for what she has done,” Miss Shuttleworth told the court. Leslie Abbott, chairman of the bench, said: “Rarely, in my time as a magistrate, which is now 18 years, have I heard anything like this. “We are left with one option for you and that’s a referral order for a period of ten months. The maximum we can give you is 12 months. “The bench felt very strongly. If you are capable of doing this to animals, what else are you capable of? “You were drunk, 14-years-old. I know what my wife would have said to my daughter if she had come home drunk at that age.” Mr Abbott also banned the girl from keeping animals for five years and ordered her mother to pay the £455 prosecution costs. Speaking after the case, RSPCA Inspector Mark Gent, said: “This is the worst case of wilful animal cruelty I have seen in my career. “What that rabbit went through was absolutely horrendous. I am glad the bench felt it was so serious.” (The sentencing for this teenager was adjurned till september) Hope she got the worst sentence possible for this.
