My cat loves dogfood

Hi Cat,
My 4 year old cat loves the royal canin mini jnr puppy food. He practically begs me for it. I tried buying him the royal canin cat food, but he still would rather the other one. He knows where I keep it and miaows and nags til I give him some. Will it do him any harm? He still haves his cat food as well. Thankyou :0)

Hi Sandra,

Puppy food is very high in fats and calories, it needs to be in order for pups to have the energy to grow. This makes it very tasty, often more so than normal adult cat and dog food. This is most likely why your cat has developed a taste for it! It will do him no harm to eat a little of it, so long as the majority of his diet is a good quality cat food. However, because of its high fat content you will have to watch his weight, as he will get bigger if he eats too much!
