HELP, Im in need of some advise !!

Hello everybody. Im hoping someone out there can offer me some advise. Im living with my partner, mum, and sister and two dogs at present but me and my partner wanna get our own place. One of the dogs is my sisters and one is my Odie. Im planning on taking Odie with me but i really dont know how hes gonna find life out on our own. The good thing bout life now is that there is always someone at home, so the dogs are never alone. When we move there wil only be the 3 of us, me my partner and Odie. We are moving ito a rented house so were finding it hard to find somewhere that will let us ave a dog as it is. I was thinking bout getting another dog not only for Odie but for us to. It would be a small dog friend to keep him company. I was thinking bout rescuomh one from a dogs home as im not wanting a puppy. Is this the only way or has any of u done something like this and how did your dog cope. I want to do wots best for Odie as hes like my baby. Its not a option to stay where we r now so ive gotta go. I just wanna know how best to do it from Odie point of view. Thanks for reding this. Anything u might ave to say im grateful for.

Hi Sharon its great you are trying to work things out for your dog but I think if you have one or two dogs its not a good idea to leave them for long periods if you and your partner work can odie not stay at your mums during your work hours and pick him up when finished ??? if not possible I dont think another dog is the answer until you are well and truly settled a rescue dog may have some problems and need lots of attention. Its not an easy situation so good luck and let us know how things work out for you.

l agree its best to get your accommodation sorted out first, you don´t say if you and your partner will be going out to work, if so, it will be a big change for Odie, as he has been used to someone being around, i would wait till you are settled and if Odie is ok on his own it may be best, depending on how old he is, as a younger dog could be to much for him, but only you will know how well he could cope.

hi sharon179
i think you should first find a landlord that willing to take dogs this can be quite hard as in the tennacy one of the rules could be no pets if you brake this rule you could end up back whare you are now but with another dog in tow
and make sure they know you will be getting another dog and that you already have one

its nice to see someone thinking ahead about pets too many times ppl dont think about pets when moveing and it can be hard for pets too
