Aww Rhian, its lovely to see your dedication at a younger age, i hope you can get to go to a rescue and give the dogs lots of hugs and walks which they need! Best of luck.

im not sure how old you have to be, if you can get your mum or dad to go with you, explain you would like to volunteer to help in any way you can, hopefully they will help you.

Yes you can keep a dog and cat together, providing you have the right sort of dog. However, I have to agree with the others. If you are living in your parents´ house it has to be their decision not yours. We know you have good intentions and will most likely carry them out, walking, feeding etc. Who will be buying the dog food and paying the vet´s bills/insurance? You also have to remember that dogs can be destructive, especially if left alone. They have been known to rip up whole kitchens. I can imagine how frustrated you feel, as since my parents always had at least two dogs (as well as cats and various other four legged furry creatures) I do not know, but it is really kinder on the dog and on your relationship with your parents to wait until you get out on your own in the world.

i think your parents ae right if you have a small house and you aleady have a cat mybe its not a good idea
