There are plenty of area´s to work with animals...here are just a few.

Dog Boarding Kennels/Cattery.
Horses (Stud,Riding schools,Livery stable´s,Farriery,Racing,Competition,Mounted Police,etc).
Farming/City Farms.
Zoo keeper.
Pet Shop/Store.
Wildlife Sanctuary´s.
Rescue Kennels/Sanctuary´s.
Falconry/Birds of Prey.
Aquatics.
Reptile´s & Exotics.
Search/Police dogs.

Basically look into an area where you would feel at home and that you would really like to pursue and then research all that you can into that job and see what you need in terms of academic qualifications and work experience before hand.

Also remember, that working with animals is hard, often long hours, which include´s working over weekends and Public holidays for poor pay and average holiday entitlement.

Whatever line of work you choose to opt for,you should also remember that veterinary will come into it somewhere along the line (not that you will have to do veterinary as such) but be prepared to nurse or care for sick or injured animals and try not to get too emotionally involved or sentimentally attached,as often those animals will have to go for whatever reason whilst you´re with them.

Working with animals is EXTREMELY rewarding (as I know from personal experience)..it is hard but the pleasure and enjoyment far outweigh´s the poor pay and the long, often unsociable hours......good luck in finding your chosen career in life and remember,if one job is not particulary for you after a while....just move on to pasture´s new and put the old one all down to experience.
