From the topic: Comments Post a comment in this discussion: 02 Feb 2009 22:35 Do what you wna do and go for it. I will be hard work and as Mary said you maybe all 3 good luck and I realy hope you succeed 02 Feb 2009 22:34 Maybe you could do some work experience in a vets, when i worked in practise we had a couple of girls come in after school to help with the animals etc maybe you could try this? Being a vet is hard work BUT if you want it enough you will achieve your goals! Good luk and i hope u are still on PS when u have letters after your name Chole Bostock MRCVS!!!! 02 Feb 2009 22:21 i think it cool your looking to the future youll have to work hard but youll get thare good luck hun 02 Feb 2009 12:04 You could try being all three but just becoming a vet take´s many years of hard graft and studying and that alone is an achievement in itself. However,if you did make it as a vet,you could choose to work with large animals such as livestock and specialise in that field which would mean that you would be based at some rural veterinary practice and although you would still see and be expected to treat a small number of small animals such as domestic pets..you´re predominantly the livestock vet and would be on call out´s for many of the local farm´s in that practice´s area. As for the Author bit....if you´re not too tired after doing long hours as a vet and all that driving to and from cases (LOL)...then you could try writing at home at your leisure but you would need to have some idea of what you would like to write about and getting a novel published is by no mean´s an easy task either...so I would definately concentrate on one or the other at this stage and not set your target´s too high!. If becoming a vet is not an option for whatever reason yet you still want to work with farm animals...then apply to go to one of the many good Agricultural College´s and start from there.....it may be worth writing to a couple anyhow and getting some free info sent to you from them,to see what range of courses they do and what may suit you. It must be said that Farming is extremely difficult these days....many farm´s are going under simply because they are not viable, there is so much red tape and Government bureaucracy, new rules and regulations and a serious lack of funding and whatnot.....many farms that have been going for years upon years are collapsing all around us,so having your own farm may be a nice idea but the cost of such properties now and the day to day running of a farm,is sadly becoming the death knell for many and the future of farming is always tainted with ever increasing hurdles and problems. Anyway.....whatever you decide to do...I wish you all the very best with your choice and for the future on a whole. |
