Vacuums best for cat furI need a new vacuum - my Dyson has finally given up - does anyone have any recommendations for a new cylinder vacuum suitable for a small house with two cats (and a gerbil)? From the topic: Comments Post a comment in this discussion: 24 Jun 2009 19:14 Yes, Emma, I have a Miele cylinder vacuum cleaner. It´s my second one. I have found them very good. Mine is the Revolution model, yes, expensive but it does a good job. I have four cats, all of them moulting at this time of the year. However--one point to mention here. Vacuum SLOWLY--give the suction a chance to do its job. The other good point about Miele is my previous one developed a fault two weeks out of guarantee. Miele themselves collected it, repaired the fault and completely overhauled it free. It was only away a few days. Anyone got one? 29 Mar 2009 09:46 Member Removed I bought an electrolux pet friendly hoover and it lasted 4 months I found it terrible and just binned it I have bought a henry hoover they are good for pet hair its a powerful machine and is quite big so you need space to store it does a great job though theres Henry in orange and Henrietta in pink lol. 29 Mar 2009 07:38 I had a dyson too, and it packed in with all the hairs -- it didn´t like them at all! Now I have a Vax V-107APP Astrata Pet Bagless Cylinder. It was about 50 squidlies, from Argos. Sop far it´s been good, bit of a pain to clean out after every session tho. But it was cheap enough so if it packs up, I´ll just go and get another one! A friend who services the industrail vacuum gave me a little tip. Take the filter out, and slash it with a knife a few times where the folds are, this opens the filter up to allow more hairs to pass though, roather than them clogging the filter and burning the motor out. It works a treat! For specific places (like my bed!) I have a Ewbank Raycop 1500UK Anti Allergy Vac. It is quite a bit expensive IMHO, but it was a pressie for me (so i ain´t complaining!) and it´s brill on soft furninshings, like the bed, sofa etc. But I don´t get it out too often, and my Carer is not even allowed near it! |
