Lump on my catHi I have a female tortie cat who is nearly 2 and a half. I felt a small lump a few days ago on her back about 6cm down from her collar. Since then the lump is bigger. It is underneath the skin and doesnt hurt when I touch it. Her behaviour and eating hasnt changed. She did have her booster vaccinations a few weeks ago around that area. I will get it checked out at the vet but do you have any ideas what it may be. Thanks Alex. It may be related to her vaccine, lumps can occasionally appear after cats have been injected but they are generally jabbed at about the level of the collar, not further down. You should always be concerned about lumps that appear on a pets body and monitoring them closely if the best approach when the animal doesn´t seem to bothered bout them. Lumps which are problematic tend to grow quickly, attach to the underlying tissue, lose the hair on their surface and may become sore or bleed. If you are worried the best thing to do is to pop the cat to your vets, they will be able to examine the mass and give their opinion on whether it is going to be a problem or not. Cat |
