help with vets billsHi all, Does anyone have any advice for help with vets bills? My mums dog may need a operation and she is out of the postcode area for PDSA. Any advice will be much appreciated. One or more of them are usually present in most large towns and cities but cover is more patchy if you are more rural. Another option is a low cost vets, of which there are now more and more, but again, they are more concentrated in the cities. If the operation is definitely required and you have some warning then it is worth being open and honest with your vets about your concerns about the costs and seeing if they would agree to a payment plan. Cat 08 Apr 2009 14:09 you could try asking whether your vet will let you mum pay by installments for the treatment. if she has been a client of theirs for a while then they will probably agree to this. 07 Apr 2009 19:36 I believe some RSPCA centre´s help out those on Benefit support too but again a few phonecalls may be necessary so as to determine who does what and what entitle´s one to either free or cheap treatment for their pets.....MOST including the PDSA ONLY take on people who are on Benefits and can supply this documentation to prove the case. I hope that helps...good luck now!. 07 Apr 2009 19:32 Member Removed Hi Jennie I didnt know pdsa had a postcode area cut off they should at least be able to advise you by phone and dogs trust as well cant think of anywhere else i hope she gets sorted good luck. |
