Generally, when they have reached the age of 6 months or so, their level of disability is set and rarely worsens. He may prefer biscuits because he finds them easier to manipulate than the wet food, but a 100% dry diet will be good for him anyway as it will help keep his teeth in good health. Cats with this condition often become more quivery when they are excited, which is problably why he shakes when he is eating! In my practice, the practice cat has Cerebella Hypoplasia and from your description, it sounds like she is more badly affected than your cat. She often falls over when she walks and is very wobbly but lives a full and happy live tormenting the dogs who come for appointments! She is now about 3 years old and suffers from no complications due to her condition. There is a video of her on my profile page. I hope this helps and puts your mind at rest. Cat |
