My dog doesnt eat dog food.

I´m still new but I will try to help. That is mostly great food except for cat biscuits. Mine also eat a raw diet. As raw or home cooked is much better then commercial products. Your dog should eat between 2-3% of their body weight daily. I do the prey model diet so mine eat meat/bones only. Others practice the barf type diet or one with veggies/fruit although dogs don´t need this its up the owner what they wish to feed. You can research this yourself.

I watch the dog whisperer religiously because i think hes a brilliant man n knows what hes talkin about when it comes to dogs. Funny enough there was a case where a dog refused to eat dg food nly what the owners would eat n to make it worse he wouldnt even move for the food they brought it to him so it desencitized his nose for the food. So what he done he took the dog for a long walk n when they got back put the dog fod in his bowl n let him sniff it out n become curious about it so he ate it so you could try takin your dog for long walks so he gets an appetite i hope that helps n try watchin cesar milan the dog whisperer or google his name it might be on there x

Liz i hope i wasn´t being nasty when i said about the prawns But i didn´t know what it was at first because my work college gave Piggy the prawns when i wasn´t in the room And it took him a day and a half for him to admit he had given her prawns because he was so scared because she could hardly breath. When she came home she was still covered in the rash after 4 days in the vets. So i took photos of her and put one on our fridge with a note not to feed any of my dogs shell fish at all. So the staff could see what shell fish can do to a dog.

Sorry i should have said about prawns they agree with blossom but maybe not other pets I know some people friends in fact who are allergic to them and get a rash thanks for pointing that out May.

Be careful about giving your dog prawns when working nights my college gave Piggy 2 prawns. And with in 4 hrs she had to be rush to a emergency vet. She was covered from head to toe in a rash and had problem breathing where her throat And face had swollen up. Her temperature was over 104. I nearly lost her that night. She spent 4 days and nights in the vets my work college was very up set because he thought he´d killed her. The result was she has a allergy to shell fish

Blossom wont eat it either she has a diet of tuna chicken rice prawns or any healthy food we have she eats chum dried food as treats i think her diet is ok shes looking good on it its not to much trouble arranging her food

My 2 dont eat dog food either, as Margaret has said I wouldnt worry. Mine eat chicken, lamb,mince, the same as your Harvey does.

If tried all sorts and he is still not interested, I would not worry too much. Of course dog food is better for him, but if it is the Cavalier in the photograph, it won´t harm him to have what you´re having. I had a mongrel once who would rather starve than eat dog food; I used to cook extra of whatever we were having. My mum actually used to cook a full English fried breakfast for her dog, though I wouldn´t recommend that! If it is all he will eat, it is better than nothing. Chicken, Mince, and Tuna are not going to harm him.
