Problem with snakes eyes

About 3 months ago one of my corn snakes which hatched sept 08 went missing, today I found him outside!!! Sitting under some plastic sheeting. He seems to be in fairly good condition, he´s responsive and alert and has eaten, but i´m concerned about his eyes. They appear slightly swollen with what appears to be skin around them, I´m not sure if it´s retained shed or caused by trauma to the eye itself or a result of living in the cold outdoors? Can you give me any advise on how to treat his eyes? I´ve wiped them with a bit of damp kitchen towel and there does seem to be a loose film over them but it wasn´t coming off, so I decided to leave it until I knew exactly what´s wrong with his eyes.

Heres a picture to show you exactly what i´m talking about...

Corn´s seem quite loyal :) I lost mine for a few mnths (found her when I was getting out the xmas dec´s, covered in tinsil, lol) she had plenty of escape routes! but stayed around, thank godness! my 7 year old Ruby has always had problems shedding when under stress, maybe it was the stress of being lost with your snake? it´s great that u found him.

He shed last night so it would appear to have been retained eye caps, he´s looking better and still alert :D
