Bunged up catHi, can anyone advise. I have a 2 yr old tabby boy, and last week and this he´s had a couple of days when he´s only spent pennies in his tray. I gave a tsp of liquid paraffin in his food, and that worked. He did a lap of honour round the flat after! He´s happy in himself, although a month ago his brother went missing. Delayed reaction? He´s an exclusively house cat, and has always been ´regular´. I´ve not changed his food. I´ve tried rubbing his tum, like for a baby, and my hand´s still in 1 piece, so he can´t be in pain. Is it normal? Older cats that are avid groomers especially long haired ones are the most likely to develop impaction of the large intestine and rectum or sometime´s it´s just a basic dietary factor. Hi Judith, You did the right thing in what you did and that obviously helped......I´d keep an eye on him and if all continue´s well from now on,then take it as just a blip BUT if he start´s having re-occuring problems of this, then it´s best to get it checked out by your vet just to make sure that everything is OK!. I hope that helps!. |
