I had to have my lovely little mouse Merlot, put down on saturday, she was ill when i got her from the breeder with her two sisters (the breeder gave her to me for free) she was constantly scratching at her eyes, after several vets had seen her and we had tried several things, we concluded it was an allergy and it was controlled with steroid injections. However she hated the jabs and they were working less and less, she had big sores all over her and it just wasnt fair on her anymore so i let her go. she was a year and a day old so considering she was ill since she was six weeks old isnt too bad. Her sister Rioja misses her

Thank you all for your comments! im pretty sure had anyone else had her she would have been put down a long time ago so maybe she came to me for a reason, at the end i was cooking brown rice and fruit and veg for her to eliminate a food allergy but it didnt help, so i think i did everything i could. they break our hearts but they are worth it!

Awwwww! RIP Merlot. Sometimes letting them go is the last real act of love you can do. Hope you feel better soon.

Awww...sorry to read about poor Merlot....at least you tried with her and gave her every chance in the world!.

May she forever scuttle amongst the clouds and her tiny paws be swathed in the colours of the Rainbow!.....Rest In Peace Merlot xxxx.
