Where´s the meow?Member Removed My two cats (brother and sister), both four and a half, have virtually lost their meow - barely a squeak, and it has been like this for five days. They are still happy within themselves, still purring and affectionate, and eating normally, with no sign of lack of interest or distress. What is wrong with their throats and is there anything I can do? However, given that both of them have the problem at the same time I would be most suspicious of an infectious problem such as a virus. As long as they are both otherwise well there may be no cause for concern. Monitor them carefully, in particular if they are having trouble swallowing or are making excessive ´gulping´ motions. These are both symptoms of sore throats, a problem which can make cats lose their meows and which does respond well to treatment. Cat |
