need help asapi have a 2 year old male that as been nutered at about a year old and now i brought a kittern they both got on so well till i got the kitten done now all they do is pick fights plzzzzz help From the topic: Comments Post a comment in this discussion: 03 Sep 2009 12:32 Hi i agree it is a dominence thing but i am confident that they should settle, once a vet told me that if you have a cat already and you want to have another its always best to get a kitten rather than an older one, they should get used to each other its probably early days, i hope so anyway just let them get on with it, unless it gets really bad. I have a female cat 11 yrs i lost her brother last year also 11yrs i was devasted, i got another kitten and the first week i was concerned about the older cat but she showed him who is the boss. Now he is a year old and they hiss and spit and sometimes box each other but its not really vicious, the younger one wants to play and the older one just socks him in the face as if to say leave me alone, sometimes its funny to watch. Good luck with them anyway, hope this was helpful. xx 28 Aug 2009 17:04 its domanace ive had this problem i have 2 kittens (6 months old ) my female kitten had a big problem with my rescue cat (1 year old ) they had a few spats it all came to a head a few days ago when they got in to a scrap an i had to seperate them for a few days but all in all i left them to it they all know thare place now so i would leave them to it for a little while to see if they can sort it them selfs 28 Aug 2009 14:09 Sounds like a bit of a dominance issue between them. The older one putting the younger one in it´s place, showing him who´s boss. If it gets really bad or goes on for a long time speak to the vet on here, she´s really nice. :-) xx |
