SOME PPL ARE SO RUDEWhile out walking my dobermann last week an old man with a poodle asked if he was ok to see his poodle and i said yes,so he walked up to us and his poodle bite my dogs face twice so i pulled him away and the man just stood there laughing no sorry just laughing so i just said f**k off and walked off.Today a man came up to us with a puppy and my dobermann snapped at it god i was so embarassed and said sorry,i really hope he isnt like my other dobermann as when a jack russel bit him once he was aggressive towards every dog he see. No offence to small/toy breed owners but they need to be under control just as a large breed does just because its small doesnt mean it can go round biting, some dogs will not tolerate this. The worst thing about this is the that had the dobe bitten back it would be a case of "dangerous dogs mauls inocent poodle" which is clearly not the case yet the dobe would no doubt be seized and at worst PTS. Small breed owners with agressive dogs should not approach strange dogs IMO and they should also be either trained or contained on a leash. 09 Oct 2009 11:32 Thank you for all the comments monty hasnt seen anyone out walking today but he will always try to see dogs and people as he is desperate for love and to be seen as one person which owned him beat him badly he didnt even know his name at 2 1/2 years old and still looks around the room in amazement when you talk to him as if to say well who are you talking to so hes had no interaction with people only when you raise your voice does he look at you and bolt anywhere he can.He has had a crap life he was covered in ticks and skin and bone and was going to be put to sleep. He does carry a teddy in his mouth when we walk him but as soon as he sees another dog he puts it down to see them.Hes used to our pug keep jumping up in his face and he never growls or snaps at him, im just wary of him doing it again. 09 Oct 2009 10:47 what a moron .....it shows how much he cares about his dogs actions...if his dog bit a child would he stand thare laughing i doubt it ......i would have said something too 09 Oct 2009 10:10 OMG that is terrible that old man doesn´t sound very nice, how is your dog today? The poor thing must have gotten a frigbht and that rechid old man just standing there laughing... The more I get to know people the more I like and prefer animals! I bet your doberman was just putting the puppy in his/her place grown up dogs often do that Fudge is always getting told off and she needs to be put in her place as she is a mischievous pup! Please do not worry hopefully he will soon forget about the dogs that bit him and return to his normal self x 08 Oct 2009 21:31 My idiot neighbour had his yorkie on a lead but was letting the snappy dog chase after my cat and was laughing his head off at the same time. I told him my cats don´t like dogs, (I was way too polite), and he just walked off laughing, saying it was funny a dog chasing a cat. I do despair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 08 Oct 2009 21:26 Hi Shelly hope your enjoying the forum, it is so anoying when your dog gets put on the defencive after being bitten, it often developes into a situation where your dog is saying if I get in first you won´t get me, with luck this will pass with your careful socialising him with friends dogs who you know will be fine with him. The gang send Elmo lots of Pug hugs!!!!! 08 Oct 2009 19:52 hi i,ve had more or less the same experience with bentley, and for a while it put him on the defensive, but i have found if he has something to carry, like a stick or tennis ball he shows no interest in other dogs whatsoever, 08 Oct 2009 19:37 i wouldn´t keep him away, now you are aware that he Might have a go just be careful with him, when you see a dog approaching get his attention away from it, till he realises they are not all bad,its easy to say, but you must not let him know your worried, as it will travel up the lead. Heiko was similar to your boy he hadn´t been socialised with other dogs , and is Glued to Kyra (much to her disgust Haa! 08 Oct 2009 19:27 I had this with my Angel a dog went for her and she still has the teeth marks to this day. The dog caught her on her stomach and the owner done balls all. I was so scared there was quite alot of blood so I have grabbed Dizz and Angel and took them back to the car. Then Angel went through the same thing barking at any dog they came towards her and snapping. So I went back to basics with her. I asked my dog trainer and she said she was snapping to sort of get in first before she gets bit again. So back to basics I went and she is ok now thank god. 08 Oct 2009 19:22 The only trouble with keeping him away from others is he has had a crap life hes already had 4 homes and hadnt lived in a house before so he loves everyone and all dogs, the way he acted when he first set eyes on our little pug was like he hadnt seen a dog before he just never leaves him alone. With my other dobermann i had just come from the vets room into the waiting room and this posh woman was holding little puppies in her arms and the mummy jack russel was loose on the floor and just come running up to my dog and was biting him in the face and the lady just turnt away and didnt say a thing about it to them its not as bad for a little dog to bite a big dog but the other way around it is. |
