They may want to try something else or give you advise on how best to manage him at home. So, before you consider any other possibilities it is very important to ensure that Biscuit has been treated with a spot-on product from your vet that covers both Fleas, the most common parasite of dogs and cats, and Scabies, which is the fox mange mite. These will both make a dog itchy and their skin sore, particularly Scabies. If he has made his skin bleed, then simply treating any parasites on its own is unlikely to work. He will have made himself sore by licking and even if you clear him of any creepy crawlies, he will need medication to soothe the skin and calm any infections he may have introduced. The best thing that you can do is take him to your vet as soon as possible. They will be able to treat the sore skin, give you their opinion on the underlying problem and make sure he receives the most suitable medications to ensure he gets better as quickly as possible!
