Used stamps and old printer cartridges needed by The Mayhew Animal Home, London Hi everyone! I just popped into this rescue centre today to give them a huge envelope full of used stamps that I have been collecting for the past 6 months. As everyone will be receiving more post over Christmas, please save your stamps for charity! I know that many other charities will accept these so do check with them first before sending them in! From the topic: Comments Post a comment in this discussion: 17 Dec 2009 20:45 Apparently they get paid for recycling the printer cartridges and will even provide you with a Freepost envelope if you call them. A lot of charities collect used stamps -stamp collectors will buy up stamps in bulk if they are looking for overseas stamps, flower pictures on stamps, animal pictures on stamps etc. and maybe the occasional rare stamp left in the pile too! You just need to make sure the stamp is intact and not torn- leave it on the envelope and just tear or cut around it leaving a small margin of paper around the stamp. I always save used stamps from my workplace as well as personal post because it doesn´t cost me anything to do this and it is nice to help other people. |
