Hammy advice

So I have a 4 month old hammy called Rosie May. She´s fabulous, although I just can´t seem to keep her entertained. She lives in a 3 tier cage, which is longer than it is taller, and has a tunnel that comes out the cage, which she loves. She also comes out of her cage regularly for time in her excerise ball, her playpen AND her ´playbox´ which is full of various toys and things to explore.

It just seems that whatever I give her, and no matter how long I let her out, she´s chewing on the bars of her cage. I know it´s some hammys dream to escape, I just want to make her happy! My other hammy Sooty, who passed away a few weeks ago, lived in the same style cage and never chewed the cage his whole life! I know that every hammy is different though, I just don´t want Rose to hurt herself. She often goes to chew her water bottle too, so she gets covered in water and I´m worried she´ll catch a chill! It´s not like I can take her water bottle off her!

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to keep hammy´s from getting bored? Those treats you can get that are like a bar of seeds stuck together keep her busy but I don´t want to give her those every night! Any advice anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated!

some hammies are just chewers i think. i had one like this too...no matter how much free range time she had or how many toys or how large her cage was...she still chewed. i think the only thing you can do is ensure that they genuinely do have enough exercise and enrichment at all times and provide them with lots of different things to chew on, ie chew sticks, wooden blocks, toilet roll tubes etc. there are sprays you can get too, as Noo said and these can be useful if they chew in certain areas. mine seemed to just chew in 2 areas so i blocked these off with wooden chew blocks and eventually she just chewed at those instead.
