Looks like Lucy has a tumor

Lucy, our Dutch rabbit has developed a large lump on her thigh! I never noticed it before as it´s hidden rather well under her fur when she´s sitting still or hoping quickly. I only saw it because she was rolling around in the garden, as she stretched her legs it seemed to bulge more. It´s about golf ball sized so i´m really shocked I never noticed it before! She´s got a vet appointment booked for tomorrow morning. Her behaviour hasn´t changed at all, she still eats like a pig and gets up to the usual mischief, it doesn´t seem tender or painful at all which I´m hoping are good signs. Will update tomorrow after the trip to the vets!

Just a quick update, the lumps now gone and she´s left with an attractive shaven leg and blue stitching lol. She had to spend thursday night locked indoors (which she hates) but we put Cheser in with her to keep her company. This morning we let her out and she´s been happily grazing away on the grass with her bunny boyfriend :)

Sorry to learn about that, but like you say, it sound´s easily removable and hopefully once it´s gone, that will be the end of it.....they will likely send it off for a histology and when that report come´s back within 5- 10 days, it will tell you (and them), whether the lump itself was an active one, what type it was and what the likely outcome will be for the future!.

I hope all goes well for her on Thursday!.

Back from the vets, the bad news is it´s not an abscess so definately either a growth, tumour or possibly even cancer... good news is because it hangs loosely with the skin it can easily be removed so we have her booked in for the op on Thursday! Hopefully once it´s removed that´ll be the end of it!
