Memorial Day...

Memorial day in the united states is celebrated on the last monday in may, and is to remember our fallen soldiers and sailors..those who died defending freedom, keeping us safe, and stopping tyranny. i would like to take this oppertunity to thank and remember the soldiers and sailors of the uk as well, you are our closest allies, and stand shoulder to shoulder with us. thank you from the bottom of my heart..your sacrifice does not go unnoticed, and is very much appreciated by this navy vet.

i just looked it up... we celebrate that as veterans day.. to celebrate all veterans, we do celebrate that, but memorial day is different, it is in memory of the fallen, those lost in conflict... it´s becoming just another day to barbeque, and have picnics and is the begining of summer... and i think that is a shame... those brave men and women deserve better, to be remembered, and i have always celebrated by paying my respects at a war memorial or national cemetary.. no matter what time i get off from work, its the least i can do to remember those real "american idols". we can never repay their sacrafices, but we can pay them the respect they deserve
