cats smelling wineDoes anyone else´s cat love the smell of wine? When ever I have a bottle/glass of wine on the table, one of my cats sticks her head as far as she can until i catch her out and seems to like the smell of the wine (especially a dry chardonnay, hee!) I just hope she doesn´t take after her lush of an owner! ;) Hope her smelling it isnt harmful? My cat Daisy can always tell if I am pouring fresh milk into my bowl for some porridge...and then looks hopefully at me for a bit of milk as a treat! 25 Jan 2011 12:48 hi Evelyn No she doesnt purr just is interested and sometimes wants to put her face right in, this is when i take it away, its just the one cat, she is obviously a wine expert! hee 21 Jan 2011 22:40 Does your cat purr a lot when she is sniffing the wine? That would confirm that she is very happy.Lol! 21 Jan 2011 22:39 I hadn´t heard of cats sniffing wine before. It sounds interesting but I agree with you that your cat must be enjoying the smell if she has her eyes closed. My cat Daisy closes her eyes if she is eating her fave wet food which contains gravy but her eyes are open when she eats dry food! 16 Jan 2011 19:20 hi guys thanks for responding. Its not just white wine its red too! and I only drink the best! hee. She is so funny when she does it, her eyes are half shut as if she is taking in all the flavours and aromas! A wine expert in the making! Just hope its not harmful? x 15 Jan 2011 22:04 We don´t have a cat anymore, but our two dogs always show alot of interest if we´re enjoying a glass or two of red wine! 15 Jan 2011 17:38 That´s interesting, because I think some white wines smell a little like cats pee! I wonder if that´s what she´s smelling? Or may be it´s just me drinking from the cheaper end of the range!! No offence intended, Lisa. |
