Doing The Doo on CommandHiya all, This post is about the infamous doo on demand. For many months I thought this whole idea was a joke. To train your dog to poo on demand and I´ll be honest my views on it all was...how ridiculous. However! I must eat my words and views on this. My Tonic has been doing his doo on command...a simple term has been used while we are out training...or in his eyes working. How it worked; after our work time..I would say to Tonic ´WALKABOUTS´ and take out a poo bag to show him. I never connected this together until recently.. and law and behold he now does his doo on command. Walkabouts is his term for poo time! ;o) Have you done similar and how did you do it? It was taught simply by waiting for them to "go" outside and then click & treat when they get it right, then add the command word or phrase. Now, when I send them outside for toileting purposes I tell them "hurry up" and they both look at me and then do whatever´s necessary. :) |
