Hi Alan,

Fin rot is a common problem in Goldfish and the symptoms you describe certainly could be it. Some vets are able to treat fish but not many, so another useful port of call is often your local aquatic shop, the good ones often have knowledgeable staff who can give good advice.

Take the fish with you and a sample of the pond water when you go, both will be very useful in making a diagnosis and deciding on treatment.
