proposal to build a beagle breeding laboratory facility in Yorkshire

American company B&K Universal had their proposal to build a beagle breeding facility in Yorkshire rejected by East Riding Council in June - but now they´ve appealed to the Planning Inspectorate.
They breed beagles for DEATH. Sold to laboratories, B&K’s beagles will have chemicals dripped into their eyes, be force fed capsules and have liquids pumped directly into their stomachs via plastic tubes.
Side effects of such experiments include vomiting, internal bleeding, seizures, paralysis and finally, death. Most B&K-born beagles will be experimented on several times before dying.
Harlan UK is the country’s last remaining breeder of beagles for use in vivisection.

If vivisection is SO important, and we cannot reintroduce capital punishment, and our jails are overflowing, why not use the "lifers" to experiment on. If they survive longer than the beagles do, they can be moved to an open unit. Extreme, Yes but why SHOULD animals suffer this way when there is an abundance of live, more appropiate test material. B&K Universal should stay on the other side of the pond, wonder if they have had problems over there hence the shift?

Well, that would probably depend on how much money they can make from it, or am I just being cynical?!

l thought the UK was cutting down on these facilities, obviously l was wrong.
Part of the UK Government review is a public consultation process which is open till early September: any organisation or individual can have their voice heard by visiting this Home Office website.http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/publications/about-us/consultations/transposition-protection-animals/
