My cat is due her annual injection which I have booked in for tomorrow. However, the receptionist informed me I may have to "start over" with the injection process because me cat had her last annual jab in aug 2010 and it´s now Nov/Dec. Is this true? Is there a time limit to a booster jab before you have to restart the whole process?

Thanks,
Lauren

Yes, your cat had her last jab in August, so it was due in August. Thats why they are annual boosters ... not bi-annual, or 18 monthly. It is very important to get it done when its due, apart from the extra expense of starting again with the initial jab and then the booster a few weeks later - your cat is now without protection. My mums old cat missed his injection by a month because mum was very ill in hospital with everything going on the injection got forgotten and the cat got flu and nearly died - he was very ill.
The jabs don´t need to be done on the exact same day - ie 10th August every year, but they do need to be done within a couple of weeks of the date ... ie 18th August would be ok. Good luck.
