I´ve never kept birds, although I think my cat, Josh, would be delighted if I did! Near where I live there´s an aviary in the public gardens, and the birds in there are gorgeous. Cockatiels, finches, and such like. 06 Nov 2009 23:05 Diane, Sorry to hear about Charlie and Fester; that´s a real shame. Mind you, cockatiels are very hardy birds, so you never know, they could´ve adapted to life on the outside and had a reletively long and happy life out in the wild. Let´s hope so. As regards your second post ha ha and oh dear. Roshen 05 Nov 2009 23:20 Member Removed Mind you, I could never own one now, although I´d love too, but I now have two...cats! One has already brought in a dead mouse tonight and deheaded it! the other day I thought I had been burgled then realised: pigeon feathers EVERYWHERE! 05 Nov 2009 23:18 Member Removed Hi, I used to have two cockatiels (the white and yellow ones with a little orange spot on the face. Charlie was the first one. He was very chatty! Didn´t speak any words, but he was so cheerful in his cockatiel nature and my husband and I were amazed at the length of his spiel! Sometimes one "speech" would last almost a full minute before he took a breath! We decided to get him a mate - Fester - a bit overwhelmed and quiet but still sweet. We decided to let them fly around the room, but sadly, they flew into the garden. Ok, they may come back but that was 5 years ago!!! | Club Members Our Pictures Our Films |
