I am em´bark´ing on a 250k charity dog sled across Norway/Sweden and Lapland to raise vital funds for the MRF (Meningitis and Septicaemia). Its Jo here from Husky Hollow, with Logan and all the rest of the gang, I have just noticed on your message to Tundra that you feed Diesel rawhide chews, these are so very very bad for them as when they chew them down so far they do all white and slippery, well, I have seen and know of many dogs that have had to have operations at the vets to have these chews removed from their tummys, you see, they do not dissolve when they swallow them and can result in blockages and or as I have just said having them to be removed.
The best things you should be feeding your boy to chew is cow shins, or anything like this. Also I do not know what you feed your boy but he should be eatting FROZEN MEAT CHUNKS (Prize Pets) 2kilo bags, and you can get beef, tripe, poultry necks, fillet fish chunks, heart, and you should also be giving him FROZEN CHICKEN WINGS, the best place to get these is from a butcher, I purchase 30kilos, and it costs me £10.64 and I have 25 Huskies and these last me 3 to 4 weeks. I have been involved with Huskies now for over 20 years, and so many people do not know how to feed these dogs correctly. I am sorry if you feel Iam being nosey, but I am only trying to help. By feeding frozen chicken wings it not only exercises the dogs jaw bones but it keeps their teeth clean and also helps with emptying their anel glands. You will do no harm to him by giving him frozen meat and bones, it is when the bones are cooked that they splinter and cause problems.
I hope I have not offended you in any way by writting and letting you know all of this, I am only trying to help, you might already know anyway. They also are big fruit eatters, and they also like cottage cheese, a raw egg once a month also sealed liver once a month. I also cook ox heart for my huskies once a month and they absolutley adore it,. I hope to hear from you and then we can have a good natter.
