G'day to all my friends . . . .  sorry I haven't written to you for a while but I haven't been very well.  I think I gave my mum & dad a bit of a scare over Christmas & New Year.  You see as I am getting a bit older now (I'm 15 & a half) & my kidneys have decided to go all funny.  So I have lost lots of weight & didn't want to eat anything NOT EVEN MY CHRISTMAS DINNER!  I have been going to the dreaded V-E-T-S a bit lately & they have been sticking things up my bottom & nastly needles in my legs.  Very undignified for dogs I reckon!
I have got lots of pills now . . . . YUK . . . . I'm getting really good at spitting them out the side of my mouth when my mum's not looking.  But I must admit they are making me feel a lot better now & my appetite is slowly returning.  But those humans of mine have changed all my diet, it's so BLAND . . . . nothing really exciting to get your teeth stuck into.  But if I put on my REALLY sad face mum goes & buys me roast turkey slices from Sainsburys!
Hope you are all well & have a great 2008 doing lots of fun things!  x Joseph x

Hello to all my friends & anybody else that is reading . . . . lovely day here in East Anglia today.  The sun is shining, so my mum thought she would take some Christmas photos of me . . . . . yawn!!!  Don't you just love being dressed up in angel's wings & big Christmas bows?  Mum says I look BEAUTIFUL & I managed to charm some old lady walking past the garden this morning.  Have you noticed how people's faces go all soft & gooey when they look at you?  And funny sounds come out of their mouths like . . . . oooohhhhhh, aaaaagggghhhhh. Must be human speak for 'What a lovely dog' or 'Isn't he gorgeous'.  Of course all of this is perfectly true in my case. . . . . lol  xx Joey xx

Hi . . . .  my name is 'Joseph of Ixworth' . . . . . well that is my official name but I am usually called Joey.  I came to live with my mum & dad 8 years ago & I REFUSE to go anywhere else, apart from nice days out at the beach or walkies up the local bridle path.  That's because this is my 7th home, that's right I've had 6 homes before.   Mum says somebody told her a was a naughty dog in the past.  Do I look naughty?  Mum says I'm a Good Boy & that I'm the most wonderful dog in the world.  Mum says I'm beautiful . . . . . Dad says I'm a 'Mummy's Boy'.  I don't mind cos now I live with the best owners ever & I'm really happy!
I'm a Beddlington Terrier X . . . . Mum says with a 'Teddy Bear'.  I used to go to Dog Shows & I have won lots of rossettes & trophies but I am getting a bit older now (more into sleeping & dreaming than primping & performing) so mum doesn't take me anymore.
I like eating lots of goodies, playing with my toys, going for walks & snoozing on my mum's bed whenever possible!

Hello Joseph, thank you for thinking about me. I have had a great life and loved every minute. I looked after my Mam when she was ill and she did the same for me. I've had some great adventures with the tent and in pubs, b&b's and hotels most weekends. I think my Mam misses me but she has Fred now, he's a bit of a handful but hopefully he will see what a good time he can have with my Mam as I know I have seen loads of places and had many a whoopy dream about it! All dogs deserve a good innings and I'm sure you are experiencing that, don't worry about the old age illnesses, we all go through them, just remember to give your Mam a good old lick, they're the best! Hope you are feeling better, your mum should contact my mum if she is worried as she has gone thru the old age thing with me, and believe me I was a grumpy bugger at times but mum knew I weren't well. xxx

Hi Joey!

Thanks so much for your message, I'm so sorry that it's late but I've not had much access to the computer lately. The rat visit was good, I'm actually quite interested in them! They are a lot bigger than I thought they would be, and their rat food is actually quite tasty. They had the hamster there too and she was really small! I was in all honesty a bit scared of her, she ran really fast in this ball thing she had! Imagine that, a hamster in a ball! Whatever next! I'm actually quite lazy on my walks. I'll chase the ball for a while with my sister, Hettie, but then I'd much rather just sniff flowers and find good sticks for my mum and dad to throw for us. I haven't seen a deer before though! What do they do?
