Dear All at Petstreet,
I have been invited on to this web site to help raise awareness to Dog Theft.
Widget and Gizmo were stolen from my car in May last year and if wasn't for the publicity we received because of my father I would still be looking for my dogs. Both dogs were sold to the unsuspecting public who would have taken the dogs to the vet. As they are both microchipped you would expect that being new clients into a new vet that they would be scanned but NO, we were told VETS DON'T SCAN. Since starting our appeal Vets Get Scanning we have discovered other unbelievable facts that as a dog owner you can't understand, the lack of support is shocking.

hiya widget and gizmo so glad you are home safe ...goodness We didn't know about not scanning ...that is so bad for everyone ....including us ...little faithful friends ! we have to be brave for our owners by having the injection of the chip done in the first place and then to hear that vets are not scanning ...well its enough to put you off your doggie biscuits!! You are a right pair of cuties ...just like me....thats what my mummy says ...speak or bark again soon...love and licks Ruby Lou xx

Hello Widget and Gizmo,
Me and my Mum watched the episode of 'it's me or the dog' featuring your horrible experience of being stolen a while back. We found it very distressing to watch but are so glad you are back safe now in your family home. Mum has signed the petition on your website and is going to ask other dog owners at work to do the same. We especially hope other staffy owners are aware of the issues surrounding dog theft as they are the most stolen breed of dog at present - partly thanks to some of the unsavoury people now taking an interest in this breed.
