Our cat mummy was a wild farm cat and the farms owner found us without our cat mummy and he throught she had left us all alone so he did what he throught best which was to pick us up and look after us himself. My mummy Brenda was just going to the farm shop and she thankfully she saw us and told the farm owner if he wanted to she would take us and look after us. He agreed and so started the long process for our mummy. The first thing she done was to take us home and give us some cat milk from little bottles (we didn't know but mummy has hand reared baby rabbits from 3 days old so she knew what to do) i was the weaker of the 2 of us and i couldn't suck from the bottle so mum very carefully gave it to me from a droper. That night we slept in a great box that was warm and right next to mummy's bed and she woke every 2 hours to feed us and to check we were alright. I don't know why but she was very happy when Honey and i done a little wee at 3am. The next day mummy took us to see a nice lady called Ann who we were told later was a vet. Ann was very concerned about me for some reason mummy said its cause i was so weak Ann told mummy that i was lucky i made it through the night whatever that means. You see i didn't even have the energy to move about like my brother he was much more alert. One think that we both had was alot of fleas and Ann had to spray us with this stuff that i didn't like but couldn't do much about it, what i did like through was the fact it did kill all the fleas. She also gave us some meds to stop worms in our tummys the worse thing was that Ann gave us an injection of antibotics and that hurt but she said it was for our own good. Ann did warn mummy that we may not make it, but she also knew that our mummy would try everything. To cut a long story short mummy had a tough 10 weeks with us but we are both still here. Mummy said the highlights for her was when we first opened our eyes and when we ate meat for the 1st time and even poohed for the first time, And off course her main highlight is the fact we are still here. Ann is very surprised and happy too. Honey Cakes is a bit bigger then me but i am very adventous where as he just follows me and gets me into trouble. But mummys a big softie and in her eyes we can do no wrong. Mummy said that we shall stay with her always which makes me happy cos i don't want to be parted from Honey. We are both now 7 months old and mummy, daddy and our big brothers and sister love us lots. Mummy says when the weather is nicer we can go outside for the 1st time it looks abit scarey but mummy, Ben & Poppy say its great fun so i will look forward to that. 0 Comments My Message Wall 28 Sep 2008 13:45 so sorry to hear about jaffa, it must of been a terrible shock to find him like that! 10 Jul 2008 19:27 Member Removed My comments R.I.P. Me and my sister Polly and our mummy came to live with nanny last year. We love it here with all our new furbrithers and fursisters :o) Nanny let us out a few weeks ago for the first time, she was in tears when she opened the door and told us not to go off and get lost but cos i'm a naughty boy i ran off. I didn't really want to upset nanny but i got a bit scared and just hid for a while. I came back when it was dark and gramps found me in the garden, nanny was so pleased to see me that she cried again...silly humans! Anyway me and polly aint been let out since cos i frightened nanny so much, so just a little tip from me....when your mummy lets you out don't run off cos she won't let you out again...hehe Billy x | |
