Unfortunately I'm a little scared of strange dogs and warn them off by barking and growling at them. Some people think I am unfriendly so Mum keeps me on the lead. Mum took me to socialisation classes when she rescued me from an animal shelter but one day when I was out for a walk a dog off his lead attacked me which knocked my confidence again. Mum is also trying really hard to stop me being sick when I am travelling in the car as I am going on my first holiday to a beach chalet in Wales in July!!!!!!!!! I loved playing fetch and have a massive toy box at home full of my favourite squeaky toys and balls. My Blog 26 May 2008 20:33 26 May 2008 20:33 I had my usual brekkie this morning, a nice bowl of Bakers, and my new pastime, running hell for leather round the field, now that I come back, and then Mum went out in the car and left me with Dad. When she came back she smelled of that shop she goes to to get me treats and toys and had a bag of food with her. At teatime she put my food down and I tucked in, but.......hang on, somethings not quite right. It would seem that my food doesn't taste quite right. After a bit of fuss I heard Mum tell Dad that she was changing my food to a more healthy food as lots of people were telling her that Bakers was full of additives and preservatives and may have something to do with me being hyper all the time. Well, BLEUGH!! This new stuff doesn't taste as nice. Mum tried to hide it in with my Bakers but I could tell the difference. I have sorted the Bakers from the new stuff and hidden the new stuff behind the dining room door. SSSHH!! Don't tell my Mum. She thinks I have been a good girl and ate it all up. Stupid humans. 0 Comments 05 May 2008 16:37 05 May 2008 16:37 Mum put me in the car this morning and said we were going to the "beach" whatever that is. I had to take my pills as the journey woud take over an hour and I have not been in the car for longer than 30 mins before. Unfortunately I was a little sick but not alot and only once!! When we got there Mum took to to a high wall and I jumped up to have a look over. Mum didn't look very happy and said "the bloody tides in" whatever that means. All I could see was miles and miles of the wet stuff. Anyway we went for a walk and Mum and Dad shared their chips with me. We went for a walk down a "pier" and I could see the wet stuff under my claws. There were lots of other dogs but I soon got fed up with barking at them so I eventually just ignored them. On the way back to the car, Mum said she would look over the wall one more time. I jumped up next to her and all the wet stuff was gone. Mum and Dad took me onto something called "sand" and all I could smell was unusual smells I had never smelled before. I couldn't go off lead as there were lots of other dogs and Mum still doesn't fully trust me, but that didn't stop me exploring. Silly Mum forgot to give me more pills before we set back off and I was a little sick again. The journey home took ages as we were stuck in a traffic jam and we stopped off at something called "Tesco". Dad went in and Mum stayed with me and cleaned me up. I'm now at home absolutely exhausted watching TV and waiting for my tea. 1 Comments 03 May 2008 10:57 03 May 2008 10:57 This morning my Mum put me on my lead to go for my usual morning walk. We usually go round a huge playing field near our house. Mum walks on the path and I explore the edges of the field on my extendable lead. Today, Mum starts to walk on the grass with me and we start to walk past some children playing football and cricket. We carried on (the field is huge) and eventually got to a open space with no one else there. Mum had a quick look around and then started to walk off. I stopped and looked and thought"why isn't my lead getting tighter" as Mum looked further away then she usually does. I then started to run after her and was able to run straight past her!!!!! Mum then gets my ball out of her pocket. I don't usually play ball unless we are on an abandoned tennis court on the local park as it has a fence all the way round it. Mum is scared I wouldn't come back or chase after other dogs. Mum throws the ball and off I go. DING!! It finally clicks I am off the lead!!! WAHEY FREEDOM. Off I go chasing the ball and bringing it back. Mum gave me lots of praise for coming back and not keeping on running. We played for about 10 mins before I realised how unfit I actually was. I'm not overweight and go on two walks a day but obviously nothing can beat a good old run. After 10 mins I lay down on the grass and just looked at Mum hoping she would get the hint and stop throwing that bloody ball. Mum did and put me back on my lead and off we went. Mum said we would have to go anyway as she had spied another dog on the field and she doesn't quite trust me yet not to go and show them who is the boss. I'm now at in the back garden in a nice sunny spot absolutely shattered!! 0 Comments 20 Apr 2008 14:46 20 Apr 2008 14:46 I have been out for a walk today with my best friend Jess. I am not scared of Jess as I know she is friendly. Mum thought that if I went out with Jess and saw that she did not bark at other dogs I may get the hint that there's nothing to be scared of. When we got to the country park, there were no other dogs!!! There was a horse show on though so it was very busy. I bark at horses when I see them on the TV but I have never seen one in real life. I looked at Jess to see what she was doing and she wasn't batting an eye lid, so I just had a look and walked on past without barking......and nothing happened!!!!! So lesson learned today is that horses do not need to be warned off and will ignore me if I ignore them. PS. I wasn't sick AND Mum let me have breakfast before we went. She also gave me some nice pork which I think had those tablets hidden in them again but if it makes me more comfortable in the car, I don't mind taking them. 1 Comments My Message Wall 26 Apr 2009 09:02 aawww cute doggie..xxxxxxxxxxx | |
