hi bubbles, how was the visit from the mare and stallion? good luck with the foal and hope he/she appears. were they put in together for natural breeding or are you timing things?! i've been thinking about doing a course for breaking in horses, would be of benefit for my career but we will see.

quail enjoyed jumping the other day, did a huge jump over a 40cm cross, took off early but loved it!!! she was ridden by a friend. i've been slowly work on maui who still has lots to learn, she was so excited about the neighbours feeding their horses last time we rode, took a while for her to stop jig jogging! the rain has been very bad here up until recently so couldn't ride before that, it is winter here though.

i'd be avoiding pig places too! no one has them on my street, my girls don't like the minature ponies though!

i hope your fear of the smell of pigs doesn't get you into danger! quail did a similar thing last year, it was a very big pig though and it was coming right at her! these days its gun fire that seems to scare quail and maui. the local farmers are shooting maybe ducks or rabbits? scares my girls though.

i'm a smart sensitive girl but pigs are terrifying. luckily i haven't seen one for a few months now. i guess its the thoroughbred in me that makes me a bit silly sometimes, my sister maui is as calm as anything...
