I rescued my boxer 1 year ago he was on supermarket food- which as Robert said made his toilet very unpleasant (more so than it would normally be) he used to open his bowel up to 10 times in a 1hour walk.
We changed to Burns following a friend’s advice whose dog was also seen by Robert two years ago.

However my dogs behavior continued to be uncontrollable but we persevered for about a year and when it came to literally the end, with me getting upset when out on walk we decided to book Robert up- we were totally happy with going with him seeing that our friends dog was totally transformed and was actually worse behaved than my dog but of course they put a lot of work in and got the results that they wanted.

During the visit he talked about many different subjects then asked me to produce all food that I was giving him – I went to the cupboard showed him the bag of Burns food (he was impressed that we was giving him a good diet), then he asked for the teat box well this is a storage box (I used to give my of lots of tasty treats any that he picks up or shows interest to while in the pet shops) Well as he did in the video Robert talked to us about the same ingredients that the treats had in them and the amount of protein that was also in them.

If my dog was to be let of the lead he was like a bullet in a gun, he would run and run literally until he couldn’t run anymore and of course totally ignoring all commands and chasing anything that moved.

Since changing his diet and cutting out all treats he is a different dog of course he still likes to run but stays close by and is a lot more responsive to my commands- we have been doing this was for about 2 ½ weeks. We slipped up for one day when a member of the family gave him a handful of dog treats that she got from a pet shop, and the same day about two hours later we took him for a walk expecting him to stay close by and by goodness to our disbelief he went back to his old ways darting around and totally out of control.

I contacted Robert and immediately told him, again he told us to cut out all treat, we have sine wrote a polite letter to all the family and asked them to not give him any treats expect the homemade ones from Roberts recipe that we have supplied people with.

To be honest if I read this I would think perhaps the person (me) is getting paid to write this or something but please it’s truly down to the diet and experience, I just wish that someone had told me this a year ago. All that time I thought ‘know wonder he had 4 homes he is wild but in fact it was all down to me’.

this guy is rapidly becoming my new doggy hero! love his manner in the interviews, he´s straight to the point and pulls no punches! love it. i just WISH that in these things that they could actually recommend us a diet / brand for our pets but assume they are not allowed to. same goes for cats, the stuff that goes in to cat food is awful...and the labelling is so very misleading, am finding i look harder and harder at ingredients lists now but there is very little information on a tin of food :-( there is often information out there as to what we should be feeding but it normally comes in the form of " feed x amount of protein per X amoung of weight" etc which i personally find very confusing. none of our experts appear to be able to just say to us, "right, this is what i would feed my pet" which is a shame as i think this is the easiest way for every day folk to understand things. i know each pet is different but even if we could be given a manufacturer´s name that the experts trust, would be a help.
