I love anything to do with reptiles and arachnids (think thats spelt right!!!) but never had the opportunity to own one. How big do you think he will get? 18 Aug 2007 12:49 Oh and you can buy some lizard scent off the net it makes mice smell like lizards a more natural food which gets some non feeders ravenous. Oh and try and get the mouse nice and warm when you defrost it and make it move about with some tweezers that should get his appetite going, but be careful if he strikes it can make you jump, lol it still gets me. 18 Aug 2007 12:46 Just read something on reguis's page that got a few alarm bells going off. Forgive me if you know all this already but i think its best to be safe than sorry. You say he is bathing in his water bowl a lot i would thouroughly check him for snake mite, not easy as they crawl under scales but check the water dish if there are little black specs in there this is probably not dirt but little flea like creatures called snake mite. If you do see some don't panic its easily treatable and if he has got them it could have something to do with him not eating. Snakes are funny animals and ou may have a hard time starting him off on dead mice some snakes will blatantly refuse till their death, but if you do some research on the web you should be able to get some tips. Thats it really again if this info isn't needed forgive me but its best to check if he's new from a pet store. 13 Aug 2007 21:30 Hi Kirsty - Its great to see you here on PetStreet. I hope we can learn a lot about reptiles and amphibia from you. (I'd love a tortoise!). M 09 Aug 2007 16:20 Welcome to the addiction :) trust me one reptile is never enough :) I like ball pythons but went for cornsnakes instead i don't know why just prefered them at the time. I also have a milk snake who has to be the worlds grumpiest animal and many others.
