They are naturally calm, though somewhat shy creatures. They have to be very angry, or scared, to sting, though may use the pincers if you anger or scare them. I am told it can hurt quite alot. Adult females are the calmest on most predictable, unless they are heavily pregnant, then they become very anti-social and angry. Females are also somewhat larger and heavier bodied than the males. The males are usually a bit more finiky, may move rapidly without warning, and seem to be somewhat more nervous. They also randomly go off their food, sometimes for weeks on end with no explanation. They are generally social with each other however, so if you want to get a few you can create a little colony of them. 26 Oct 2007 18:04 Thats pretty unlucky! Arabian scorpion, a fat tail, androcotonus spp (I think thats how you do the scientific name...). I am quite surprised that you ended up with one of them to be fair. Its usually the thick tailed (though mistakenly called fat tailed) that pitch up, parabuthis spp. that pitch up. Probably best its gone, as you stated due to the lisence, and the venom isn't exactly nice. Try an emperor scorpion if you want another one. They are less likely to land you in A&E :P 11 Oct 2007 11:28 Hi Jen, how are you, I have a fear of spiders, more so the ones that bite how do you feed these little critters ? 01 Oct 2007 15:16 sorry about the wait ive been in spain. It's wierd because I run a mile from house spiders but put one of yours in front of me and I would gladly handle it......strange I know.....lol | My Human Friends 3 Friends You must log in to ask or accept friendship. |
