I have always loved dogs and previously owned dobermans. I now have 3 labradors. Barney is a black lab and he is 8 soon. About 2 years ago he had a spinal stroke and was paralysed from the neck down. After much love, care, physio and hydrotherapy (and huge bills) and against all the odds we have managed to get him walking again. He walks in a very strange manner but we don´t care! We also have his half brother Benson who is a chocolate lab and is 6. Unbelievably he also sufferred a spinal stroke about a year ago, not so severe and he is mainly affected in his left rear leg. We are told by the experts it is not linked to them being related, just unlucky!! Our newest addition is Pippa who is a Red Fox Labrador and is now 19 months old. She is quite a character and has fitted in brilliantly with the other two. I have 2 children and a husband who all say they come behind my dogs in the pecking order - what can I say!!!! Labs do have extremely sensitive stomachs, Amber is sick sometimes even when shes had the same food, sometimes i think if they eat plants and things they shouldnt it can upset their stomachs until whatever it is has passed. Have you tried the boiled chicken and rice diet? 08 Nov 2010 12:01 Hi Sara just thought i´d update you on Louis, his leg has greatly improved! It looks like it was a developmental thing which large male dogs are prone to as pups, were still keeping an eye on it and keeping his walks short and often but it seems to have cleared up! yay!how are your lot doing?? 21 Aug 2010 13:29 Thanks, he still leaps around like a crazy puppy but I´m just worried for the future, but as you say reagdless of what he has wrong he´s still my dog and ill do anything it takes to give him a good and happy life!
