As it's been over a week since you posted a question about cycstitis I thought I'd email so you get it.

Dry food is best avoided if possible but if not then those low in salt and protein are best when your cat has cystitis. Although cats need much more meat than anything else. Just get the best quality you can find, with an ingredients label you understand and you'll be fine.

But, if he gets cystitis again Dorwest Herbs recommend taking garlic & fenugreek tablets and mixed vegetable tablets. The G&F help fight infection and the mixed veg tablets increase the urinary flow and remove uric acid. But if the condition persists then a visit to the vets is on the cards.
