Zoe was so cute and I don't think she enjoyed the attention....but I gave her some treat for her effort, so she was alright at the end. How is your animal communication skill going on? Love Mary. 04 May 2008 09:46 Hi Kenny - thanks for the note. I am afaid there is a big difference between Animal Welfare and Animal Rights. Animal Welfare is the viewpoint that animals, especially those under human care, should not suffer unnecessarily, including where the animals are used for food, work, companionship, or research. Any person who has a pet believes, or at least I hope believes, in animal welfare. They want to provide their pet with a safe, healthy, caring environment, and do not want to see any animal neglected or abused. Animal Rights, also known as animal liberation, is the idea that the interests of animals—for example, avoiding suffering—should have the same consideration as the interests of human beings. Animal rights advocates argue that animals should not be regarded as property, or treated as resources for human purposes, such as food, clothing, or as pets. Animal rights activists believe ALL animals should be left in the wild. They do not believe any animal should be used for food, entertainment, clothing, or as pets. Their ultimate goal is to BAN ALL PETS, not just exotics. YES, dogs and cats too. The web site of People For Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) clearly state it in their FAQ section. (http://www.peta.org/about/faq.asp) Animal Rights groups, such as PETA, believe animals are better off DEAD than in human houses as pets. Please look at my blog /discussion (13th jan 2008) and also see the interview i did with Animal Aid's Andrew Tyler. Its on my home page. Ed. 23 Apr 2008 18:17 Hi Kenny Thank you for your message. Do you practice your animal communication often? Granny Zoe has been very lazy lately, she just cannot be bothered to go on her exercise wheel...for now, what seems to interest her is...FOOD:-) I saw an article in the press about African Pygmy hedgies being fashionable and easy to look after, I would disagree with that totally. Zoe is not easy to look after, she needs her sand to be changed several time a day, she needs to go on her exercise wheel cos APH in captivity suffer from obesity (she used to be a whopping 999g) and my little brush has a rather delicate stomach, so I have to be careful with her food. But I wouldn't change her for the world:-) Right now she is asleep in her new penthouse: a shoe box which is inside a terrarium with a sand tray (she uses it for baths and as her toilet, hence changing the sand all the time in case she wants a bath). Hope you are ok Best wishes Oephebia x 18 Apr 2008 17:37 Hi Kenny. Thanks for your message. Yes Mia was a beauty as a pup and she is a real stunner now and still turns heads when she is out. I will be uploading some recent pics of her soon. I love the BIG Cat you have lol. Take Care. Sandy. 18 Apr 2008 13:45 Hi Kenny Thank you for your message. No you are not mad, animal communication is a wonderful way to connect on the soul level with our pet companions and animals generally speaking. I am going to teach animal communication in July in London. I am sure you can find a workshop on Animal communication in Scotland:-) Yes Zoe is beautiful, she is a little granny now but full of character:-) Zoe says she doesn't bite, (she is lying, she did bite me twice when she was an hoglet, but again my hands smelt of food....so it is only fair game). I am very passionate about animals and do believe their are souls like us, just in a different body:-) Best wishes Oephebia x | My Human Friends 3 Friends You must log in to ask or accept friendship. |
