Hello! I have never belonged to a site like this before and I came across it whilst researching Margrit Coates website about healing animals. This is a new area of interest for me and I am looking forward to finding out more. I used to work in property for years after Uni, then trained as a reflexologist in my late 20s and then a counsellor/hypnotherapist in my early 30s but unfortunately gave up practising to help with our young mag.publishing co. which has now developed into a computer software firm! Now I want to go back to something more fulfilling and meaningful (hopefully less stressful too!) I am mid 40's, married and live both in the UK and Sth Africa (which is a privilege but hard when you miss your animal companions!) We travel a lot but my in laws make great pet sitters! At present I only have one 6 yr old Aussie whom we are potty about, but we have been blessed with two Siamese cats, a whippet, a long haired G.S., a puppy GS (who sadly had a weak heart and died whilst being spade in Jo'burg), and a puppy Aussie whom we just lost tragically, and a puppy bull terrier in the past whom we looked after for a friend. I am still coming to terms with loosing Zorro. It has also opened me up to other things. Maybe this painful experience will help me to empathise even more with others if I reach the stage where I get involved in healing. (My Mum heals). Loosing pets to illness is something I already understood but loosing a pet to a shocking tragedy is something I thought I would never have to go through and the pain is different...although the horrible nagging guilt comes with both regardless when you love someone. (I know - its a redundant emotion!) Animals are the best part of my life - and the best therapy. They have kept me sane during hard times and are my anchor. I cherish and respect their purity and ability to love and I have to admit that I do prefer their company to most humans!! We have so much to learn from their lack of malice and inner beauty. Not that I am not attracted to their outer beauty too!! I do see them as little Angels whom we are so lucky to spend time with and who come to heal us and to give us so much love. Thank you to all my furry friends! Can you imagine a world without them?
