I am a Complementary Therapist and Healer for both human & animal clients. I became interested in Holistic Health when I suffered a mild stroke brought about by stress when I was just 23. I was studying at University and I was also working for the social services. I look upon that to be the best thing that could have happened to me, as it totally changed my life. I made a full recovery through investigating natural therapies and healing. I have been a Reiki Master for the past 14 years and have been healing animals for over 25 years. I hold professional membership of the FHT and I also facilitate professional fully certificated courses in animal healing around the UK. I also run courses in animal communication. I adore all animals and I support many animal charities. I´m a lifetime supporter of The Cats Protection. I sponsor 3 cats at a local charity and various other animals with national charities. I offer free Animal Healing at various events throughout the UK by way of donations to The CP and also to a local Lady who rescues abandoned animals. My Fiance and I made a 300 mile round trip to collect 2 abandoned cats we had seen on the CP website. They needed a special home as one of them, Tessie, was agraphobic. Tessie and Jemima have made excellent progress and we couldn´t image our lives without them. I regularly appear on BBC radio and have recently been comissioned to write a book about my work. Throughout my work as a Healer I have had the pleasure to work with a wide variety of animals including lambs, llamas and lizards! Healing is not a substitute for veterinary care and I will not see an animal unless it has been diagnosed by a vet so I know what I am working with. Healing works alongside orthodox or homeopathic medicine very well and I receive many vet referrals. I am based in rural Norfolk but my work takes me throughout the UK. Therefore as part of our awards ceremony we are working with the SUNDAY EXPRESS to find UK´s best rescue pet and recognise pet for their special and most unusual story, be it overcoming some behavioural adversity or rehoming and rehabilitating a pet against all the odds. The winning pet (cat, dog, rabbit, rodent, guinea pig, chinchilla, pony) will be featured in the SUNDAY EXPRESS and invited to the March 2011 Wetnose Burgess Rescue Aware ceremony in London next March 2011 to receive their award at the star studded event. The winner will be presented with a trophy and will also receive a lifetime supply of food for the winning pet courtesy of Burgess Pet Care. Travel expenses and overnight accommodation in pet friendly hotel will also be provided for 2 people together with 2 tickets for an evening show and meal so they can make the most of their trip to London. If the winners are bringing their pet we will find an alternative suitable activity that can include their pet. To nominate you’re pet as the UK’s Best Rescue Pet please visit www.wetnoseanimalaid.com to submit your entry. So tell us all about your rescued pet in no more than 750 words. Good Luck…. All nominations to be sent to Wetnose Animal Aid, Newgate Lodge, Newgate, Kirby Cane, Norfolk, NR35 2PP.
