My Interests
Hi, my name is Laura and I currently have 9 pets - 4 dogs, 1 cat and 4 ferrets. I live in Swadlincote in Derbyshire. I´ve always had pets and grown up with parents who had just about every pet going at some point !

My pictures are a mix of the current ones and pets I´ve had over the years and I´ve loved them all to bits.

My interests are: animals (duh!), music, films and TV comedies, handmaking cards, sleeping!

I´d love to chat to some other owners, especially ferret owners as there are not many of them around near me.

Hi Laura - the post below was an old one from me, when I was a member of Pet Street previously! So thank you for accepting me as your friend here again! We now have 20 Ferrets, and still have our 7 Guinea Pigs, 2 Goldfish, and our 2 rescue boys (dogs). Sadly one of our Ferret hobs, Tickle went over The Rainbow Bridge on the 14th January 2010. I look forward to hearing from you again. Love Janet X

Hi Laura, how are you keeping and all of your lovely animals? We are OK, although I have lots of physio still to do on my arm. Our G.P´s are really coming along well and they are very healthy, 3 girls and two boys, and Mum and Dad. Hope to hear from you soon, Love Janet xxxx

My comments Hi again Laura. How do you like our new Pet Street, I think it is great and I am exploring at present! My right arm is paralyzed since my accident in February, but I have the use of my hand, although my fingers are bent. I am having physio therapy now. We have 3 girls and 2 boy guinea pig pups, and they are gorgeous. Hope to hear from you soon. Love Jan xxxx

Hello Laura, and thank you for being my friend here on P.S. I see that you have many lovely fur babies, and Ferrets are lovely animals, although they often receive "bad press" from people who haven't usually even met one! We have 20 Ferrets, our own pets, but we have rescued them for the past ten years, and we have come across some terrible cruelty. I really don't know why some people treat their animals in such terrible ways, but I do love being able to take in an animal and help to make it better, and that he or she feels safe, well loved, fed and watered and kept warm. After all, animals love us unconditionally. I do hope to hear from you soon, Best Wishes Janet xx

Hiya sorry for my late reply but i've been on holiday for the last week so i've had no access to a computer.
Geckos are wonderful! But, (isn't there always) just a few things to take into consideration. Well one really, geckos live for 20 years plus if well kept so its always good to bear that in mind if he's previously lived a rather travelled lifestyle.
As for advice there are so many gecko species on the market now its kind of daunting to pick a species, but i would always choose the leopard gecko. Just because of they're ease to look after and there is so much info on them now. Plus they're nearly all captive bred so no wild caught problems. If you do get a leo gecko just remember that if you have to they must be both GIRLS two boys will fight to the death once they mature and if you have one of each the female stands a high chance of stress induced illness or death from the bullying male.
thats it really if he wants to know any specifics or a care sheet just let me know, oh or a good place to get one from.
