My blog Fireworks!I am getting increasingly cheesed off with fireworks - not the pretty ones but the loud ones that sound like a bomb going off and scare both pets and wildlife. There are so many people that care about pets in the UK - maybe we can organise ourselves to have these loud fireworks banned?? Comments 29 Jan 2007 00:12 Totaly agree with the fireworks comments. They should not be on sale to the public, it should be organised displays only. I am only writing because, I was out with Cara this evening and there were fireworks going off. Doesn't bother her at all, but she is bold as brass. I do know of lots of pets who are absolutely terrified though. 30 Dec 2006 18:46 Totally agree on the fireworks. No body wants to be a kill joy - but to me they are more of a visual thing than a sound thing. As you said, it is only the very loud ones anyway, I hardly thing turning down the volume is going to cause hardship. What is the point of them? Would anyone really mind, notice or care if the really loud ones were banned? As public displays take on more popularity (and I also wonder why we still to allow private sales of the things. Madness...) it would give everyone a chance to hear Handel´s Watermusic better!! They have always scared Bear - but he is a bit deaf now so he isn´t too bad - but I know tomorrow eve will be awful for him. Does anyone know what happens in other countries? Does, say, Australia have a noise limit? |
