My blog Heading Lilies are poisonous to catsPlease don´t keep lilies near cats. They cause many nasty symptoms but particularly renal failure. There have been many deaths. Even the pollen might be poisonous to cats and kittens. Thanks to people who responded to my query about yew berries this month (November 2009). Cats seem to be affected by very many things..........certainly as many as humans. I suppose we will just have to be careful. Comments 17 Jan 2007 21:57 Hi, I've found lillies to be dangerous for hamsters too. Found this out by accident when the pollen dropped onto the top of a tank type cage. Fortunately, only a small amount of pollen got in the cage but the hamster was quite ill. Luckily, she made a full recovery & I've not had lillies in the house since. |
