Blog author 28 Jan 2008 21:34 | My blog Luxating PatellaLast Wednesday (23 Jan) Twig had an operation to correct what is called a Luxating Patella, this is when the knee cap slips from the position its supposed to be in and so the leg sticks out - this is a very common problem in small breeds and very often is hereditary :( the operation is a very complex one and took 1 and a half hours and was carried out by a specialist vet and my own practice vet. I will be writing about Twig's experience of this and how awful and painful it has been for her :( i hope that anyone who breeds their dog who has this condition takes a second thought as to what they may be inflicting on the next generation :( |
